Eastvale became a city only in 2010, and its addresses show it. A home there can carry a Corona or Mira Loma mailing name, and records from before 2010 may describe the same street as unincorporated county land. For service of process, the name on the envelope matters less than the street address. For filing, the court has already sorted it out: every Eastvale ZIP Code lands in the same courthouse for each case type.
We handle Eastvale Service Requests from our Sacramento office, about 388 miles away in a straight line, and serve the papers at the Eastvale address.
Is an Eastvale address in Eastvale, Corona or Mira Loma?
Often all three, depending on who wrote it down. The City of Eastvale's history page says the city shares ZIP Code 92880 with Corona and 91752 with Jurupa Valley, and that residents receive their mail from the Corona Post Office. It adds that many residents once believed they lived in the City of Corona because of that shared ZIP.
The Census Bureau's 2020 ZIP Code area file shows how lopsided the split is. Eastvale holds only about 17% of the land in 91752, while Jurupa Valley holds about 80%. In 92880, Eastvale has about 38% of the land, Corona about 23% and Chino about 7%, and roughly 31% sits outside any city.
The city's FAQ fixes the dates and the edges. Eastvale became a city on October 1, 2010, after voters approved incorporation on June 8, 2010. Its boundaries are the Santa Ana River on the south, Hellman Avenue on the west, the I-15 freeway on the east and Philadelphia Avenue on the north. The city describes itself as 13.1 square miles.
What this means for your request:
- Send the address the way your records show it, whether that's Corona, Mira Loma or Eastvale, and add a note that it's in Eastvale. A mismatch between the city name and the ZIP doesn't stop service.
- Check older documents. A lease, judgment or credit report from before October 2010 may list the same home as unincorporated Riverside County.
- Watch the ZIP's other side. 91752 also covers Jurupa Valley, and 92880 also covers part of Corona. If the street name alone could be in either city, a cross street or a photo of the building helps.
Which courthouse hears Eastvale cases?
Both Eastvale ZIP Codes, 91752 and 92880, follow the same assignments in each of the court's filing orders. Limited civil, evictions, small claims, restraining orders under CCP §§ 527.6–527.8 and name changes go to the Corona Courthouse. Unlimited civil and probate go to the Riverside Historic Courthouse. Family law goes to the Riverside Family Law Courthouse.
| Case type | Courthouse | Straight line from Eastvale |
|---|---|---|
| Unlimited civil | Riverside Historic Courthouse, 4050 Main Street, Riverside | about 12 miles |
| Limited civil | Corona Courthouse, 505 S. Buena Vista Ave., Room 201 | about 6 miles |
| Unlawful detainer (eviction) | Corona Courthouse | about 6 miles |
| Small claims | Corona Courthouse | about 6 miles |
| Civil harassment and workplace violence restraining orders | Corona Courthouse | about 6 miles |
| Name change petitions | Corona Courthouse | about 6 miles |
| Family law | Riverside Family Law Courthouse, 4175 Main Street, Riverside | about 12 miles |
| Probate | Riverside Historic Courthouse, Probate Division | about 12 miles |
The civil order took effect August 1, 2026. The family law order dates from July 8, 2024, and the probate order from December 23, 2024. In the civil order, 91752 appears as "Mira Loma, Eastvale, Jurupa Valley" and 92880 appears under Corona, which is one more sign of how the area's names overlap.
The Corona Courthouse is open Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m.–4:00 p.m., according to the court's page. Clerk phone lines close at 2:00 p.m. There's a drop box, and anything left after 4:00 p.m. is processed the next court day.
San Bernardino County is next door
Chino and Ontario, about 4 and 5 miles away in a straight line, are in San Bernardino County. That county has its own superior court, its own filing rules and its own courthouses. The Census Bureau's ZIP Code area for 92880 also reaches into part of Chino, so the ZIP by itself doesn't prove which county a home is in.
Why it matters: county lines change where a case can be filed and how some service deadlines are counted. For small claims, the Judicial Council's SC-104B instructions (revised January 1, 2026) require personal service at least 15 days before trial for a party inside the county, and 20 days for one outside it. Substituted service needs 25 days, or 30 outside the county. An Eastvale plaintiff suing someone who lives in Chino is serving out of county, even if the drive is short.
If the case belongs on the San Bernardino side, the courthouses change too. The San Bernardino Superior Court's where-to-file guide sends Chino and Chino Hills civil cases, limited and unlimited, to the Civil Division of the Rancho Cucamonga District at 8303 Haven Avenue. Small claims and limited landlord-tenant cases from Chino, Chino Hills and Ontario go to the Fontana District at 17780 Arrow Boulevard. Both clerk's offices list hours of 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on weekdays, so they open half an hour later than the Corona Courthouse.
Before you file, confirm the county from the property records or the city the address is actually in. If the person to be served splits time between an Eastvale home and a Chino or Ontario job, send both addresses on one Service Request. This is general information, not legal advice.
Papers to serve in Eastvale?
How do I get papers served at an Eastvale home?
Start a Service Request, upload the documents, name the person or business, and give us every address you have. A short Letter of Instruction saves attempts, especially where a ZIP Code crosses city lines.
- Street address with the tract or cross street. It confirms which side of a ZIP line the home is on.
- Who lives there. Another adult at the home can matter if substituted service becomes necessary (CCP § 415.20).
- Hours. Early morning, evening or weekend windows help for anyone who commutes out of the city.
- Gate or HOA details. If a community has a gate, the call box listing or a code. If it doesn't, say so.
- A second address. A workplace in Corona, Norco or across the line in Chino or Ontario.
Choose Rush or Standard, and get status updates by email. If the person has moved out, ask about skip tracing to find a current address.
Eastvale evictions at the Corona Courthouse
Each Eastvale unlawful detainer is filed at the Corona Courthouse, and the tenant's response deadline runs from service. The court's evictions page gives the tenant 10 days to file an answer after being handed the summons and complaint, leaving out Saturdays, Sundays and other judicial holidays. The landlord's next step, a default judgment or a request to set trial on form UD-150, depends on that date, which is why the proof of service (POS-010) matters.
Eviction files are kept out of public view at first. The court's records page says unlawful detainer cases are confidential for their first 60 days. A party with an interest in the case can still see it by supplying at least one plaintiff's name, one defendant's name and the property address. For older matters, the court's online search covers Corona civil cases from March 1994 and Corona small claims from November 1994.
A landlord or tenant handling the case without a lawyer can use the Corona Courthouse self-help center in Room 201, which the court lists with its other self-help locations.
How do you serve a business in Eastvale?
Companies are served through the agent for service of process listed with the California Secretary of State (Corporations Code §§ 1502 and 17701.13). A business with an Eastvale storefront or warehouse may name an agent in another county, and that's where service happens. Look it up on bizfile Online and send us the agent's details with the papers. Our guide to serving corporations covers officers, registered agent companies and out-of-state entities.
When an Eastvale business case also needs a filing at the Corona Courthouse, we can file and serve on one request.
Filing an Eastvale case: what the local rules add
Riverside's Local Rule 3115 ties the courthouse to the state venue statutes, CCP §§ 392 through 401. For an Eastvale eviction, that generally means the rental's ZIP Code. For a debt or injury case, it's often where a defendant lives, which is where the Chino question above can change the answer. An attorney's first pleading also carries a Certificate of Counsel naming the proper branch and the reason (Local Rule 3117).
Represented parties must e-file Riverside civil cases, evictions included, and have since January 1, 2022 (Local Rule 3118). Someone handling their own small claims or eviction case can still file at the Corona counter or drop box, or e-file if they choose. Our Riverside County court filing page explains how we handle each route.
Mixed cases need one more step. The same rule says a represented party who e-files must still serve a self-represented party by non-electronic means, unless that person affirmatively agrees otherwise. So when an Eastvale homeowner without a lawyer is on the other side of a represented landlord, contractor or HOA, motions and notices still go out on paper, by mail or in person. We can deliver them and return a signed proof.
The homeowner has free help on procedure, too. The court's Small Claims Advisory program, run through its Self-Help Center, puts a paralegal on the phone or in person to walk a small claims party through every stage, from filing to enforcing a judgment. The advisor can't give legal advice. The court lists (951) 274-4499 for the program.
